Essence Stay All Day 16h and All About Matt! (Swatches + Review)

Essence Stay All Day 16h and All About Matt!
Hello dearies! It has been a while since my last beauty post as I am always out for some events and personal stuffs to attend. So I've got no time for product shoot hehe. Anyway to make it up to you,  I am very thrilled to share my current favorite foundation and setting powder from Essence Cosmetics.

For the record, Essence Stay All Day 16h is the cheapest liquid foundation I ever acquired where I got it on sale from 349php to 200php at Wastons SM North EDSA. Meanwhile, All About Matt! retails at 269php.

Essence Stay All Day 16h has a slimmer packaging compare to other drugstore brands like Revlon and Covergirl. The product is enclosed in a plastic bottle which makes it lightweight and easy to carry during travel. Apparently, it has a pump which is a plus for hygienic purposes.

On the other hand, Essence All About Matt! is in a clear compact packaging with 0.28oz / 8.0g of product. Basically, it is a finishing compact powder for a matte and natural finish all day long. Moreover, it also helps to blend blush and foundation colors together. And since it is a translucent powder, it is perfect for all skin tones.

Both has a subtle powder scent that goes away after few seconds of application. The shade Soft beige has a yellow undertone to it.

The long-lasting and light weight make-up provides a flawless silky complexion that lasts all day! Easy to apply due to the soft texture, dermatologically approved.

One layer of Essence Stay All Day 16h
It has a light to medium coverage, blendable and feels light on my skin. It was able to cover my open pores but not my dark spots especially on the side of my nose and wasn't able to even out my skintone.

On a daily basis, I normally apply just 1 layer of foundation as I still want to look natural under my make up. But for this review, I applied another layer to see if it will able to cover all my blemishes without using a concealer.

And it did. However, my face feels heavy this time. Apart from that, hubby noticed that my face looks darker and I looked different. I told him that I just used the same foundation and added another layer, methinks its because it has a yellow undertone to it that makes my skin looks darker.

Tadaaaaan! What do you think?
On my face: Essence Stay All Day 16h and All About Matt! Brows: Etude House Designing Eyebrow Pencil in BrownBYS Brow Definition Kit Eyes: Maybelline Hypersharp Eyeliner, Etude House Styling Eyeliner Cheeks: Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso, Lips: Colourpop Ultra Matte in Teeny Tiny

Longevity-wise, I was impressed that it stays and looks great on me until the end of the day. And given my combination skin, it ended up dewy which I'm loving. Just make sure you always bring oil-control film whenever your face feels/looks oily.

Pros:
Affordable
Available locally
Travel friendly
Easy to blend
Long lasting

Neutral
Light to medium coverage

Cons:
Feels heavy on the skin if applied 2 layers

Glad I bought these babies because I super love this. I've been using these on my errands because it gives me the natural look I wanted. Given its affordable price, this is perfect for beginners or make up lovers with a limited budget.

  1. Good coverage! It looks so natural. I actually prefer compact setting powder to loose ones. I tried to go "feeling pro" and hoarded a lot of loose powders, but then I can't retouch with them. They are so bulky and often spill!

  6. I need this in my life. I love liquid foundations. Great great coverage. I got scars from pimples that appeared postpartum and I'm having some trouble hiding them sometimes. I think this will work nicely on me.

  7. I'm not a foundation user not a powder one. I'm good with just using a daily cream or a sunblock. I actually tried using foundation but because my face sweats easily, it got messy.

  14. Lovely. I use cover girl trueblend. It seems to have the closest to my pale skin and it is fairly light on my skin which is nice since I don't really like to wear a lot of makeup most of the time.
