Current Facial Scrubs: St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub and HHN 100% Natural Detoxifying Mask+Scrub

Here is a review onΒ St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub and Human Heart Nature 100% Natural Detoxifying Mask+Scrub.

Your skin needs exfoliation twice a week for a healthy, young-looking glowing skin. Exfoliation means removing the surface layer of dead cells to get a soft and cleansed face.Β  Aside from cleanliness, exfoliation helps to stimulate blood flow to your face to give the appearance of a youthful glow. And without further ado, I would like to introduce my current facial scrubs.

St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub and Human Heart Nature Detoxifying Mask+Scrub

St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub. I’ve been using this since I was in college, 12 years to be exact. I already tried different brands but I keep coming back to this. My holy grail, I must say. This scrub consists of apricot, corn kernel meal and walnut so the texture is a bit rough. I can attest that this won’t aggravate your acne (except that you rub it too hard) because I myself has an acne prone skin. Redness will occur after wash but it will diminished after few minutes. I love how fresh and clean my face was after the wash.

This facial scrub comes in a tube container with net weight of 6oz/170grams. It also has smaller size if you want to try this out first before buying its full size. Full bottle sized takes 2-3 month for me to finish so its sulit for its price (250php to 350php – sorry can’t remember the exact amount).

Pros:
1. 100% Natural exfoliants
2. Pareben-free and sulfate-free
3. Nice scent
4. Doesn’t clog my pores
5. Dermatologically-tested
6. Leaving your skin smooth, fresh and cleanΒ
7. Available in all leading supermarket and drugstores

Cons:
1. Texture is a bit rough on skin when rub so it may cause redness after wash.Β

St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub and Human Heart Nature Detoxifying Mask+Scrub

Human Heart Nature 100% Natural Detoxifying Mask+Scrub.

This luxurious spa-in-a-tube beauty treat contains deeply purifying strawberry seeds, bamboo granules, and kaolin clay, plus skin-renewing multifruit extracts to dissolve excess oil, clear pores, and gently polish away dead skin cells for a brighter, healthier complexion. Source

First thing I like about this facial scrub is its sweet berry scent, smells clean and refreshing. Its scrubs is smaller than St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub so it doesn’t cause redness after wash. You can use this as mask or scrub so you can save money instead of purchasing separate mask or scrub. Since I use this alternately with St. Ives, I did not see any brightening effects on my face. It will also take 2-3 months to finish this product.

Pros:
1. 100% Natural
2. It has sweet berry scent
3. You can use as mask or scrub
4. Leaving your skin smooth, fresh and cleanΒ
5. Available in all leading supermarket or Human Heart Website (currently in sale price at 224.75php

Cons: NONE

St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub and Human Heart Nature Detoxifying Mask+Scrub

Both serve well for its purpose and definitely repurchase once I ran out these two babies.Β

  1. I have tried St. Ives too in the past and love it! It really exfoliates my black/whiteheads (ewww) esp. on my nose. I don't really have a current scrub but I usually use loofah or facial sponge when needed. πŸ™‚

  2. I used to have konjac sponge from Beauty Bar, the charcoal one for 500php (I think). And it worked wonders on me, it felt really clean after wash. I read somewhere na Tony Moly also have konjac sponge but for a cheaper price. Maitry nga!

Btw, thanks for dropping by! πŸ™‚

  3. I'm honestly not the kikay kind so washing my face with soap is oftentimes enough. Though I'm learning to be more conscious so I'm beginning to try out different products. My mom have used St. Ives products and it's such a good brand. I'm been planning to use human nature. I think I'll give this one a go.β™₯ Louise |
